Call it serendipity or genius, but when four legends of Texas music pooled their talents in December 1989, a new sound was born: the Texas Tornados. Freddy Fender. Doug Sahm. Augie Meyers. Flaco Jimenez. Four careers' worth of Texas music royalty, united on a single stage - and on October 16, 1990, just one year into their run, they took that stage at Austin City Limits and delivered a performance for the ages.
