Recorded in 2001 in Piedras Negras Coahuila across the Rio Grande from Texas by Chris Strachwitz this CD captures the sound of traditional norteno music in a cantina in Mexico’s northen state of Coahuila. Los Alacranes de Durango are probably the best pure norteño conjunto working in Piedras Negras. Los Alacranes (their name means “The Scorpions”) perform a cross section of corridos rancheras and polkas. In the tradition of Los Broncos de Reynosa!
