This is a 2026 Record Store Day Release. Flying Lotus, born Steven Ellison, is a GRAMMY Award winning producer, musician, composer, and filmmaker from Los Angeles. Known for his boundary-defying approach to music and storytelling, Flying Lotus has emerged as one of the most influential and creative voices in modern experimental music and visual art. Over the span of his career, Flying Lotus has earned over 608M streams on Spotify alone. Flying Lotus first gained recognition with his 2006 debut 1983, which has now been remastered and reissued on limited edition gold splatter LP housed in an iridescent gold metallic sleeve with emboss detail and black paper inner. It was Los Angeles (2008) and Cosmogramma (2010) that firmly established him as a pioneer in the LA beat scene. Cosmogramma blended jazz improvisation with cosmic textures, and is rightly regarded as one of the greatest electronic albums of all time. Subsequent albums like Until the Quiet Comes (2012) and You're Dead! (2014) showcased his growing ambition. You're Dead!, a concept album about the afterlife, featured Kendrick Lamar, Thundercat, and Herbie Hancock, and is widely considered a modern classic. In 2019, he released Flamagra, an expansive and cinematic album featuring Anderson.Paak, Tierra Whack, and David Lynch.
